Mount Gay Rum, de oudste, meest legendarische rum ter wereld, wordt sinds 1703 met passie en ongeëvenaard vakmanschap in Barbados geproduceerd, waardoor het de titel "de rum die rum heeft uitgevonden" verdient. Tijdens deze proefervaring leer je over de geschiedenis van Mount Gay-rum, ervaar je een portie van 4 kenmerkende rum en keer je terug naar ons Ocean View Deck met eten, bereid door onze eigen chef-kok. Wil je niet rijden, maak je geen zorgen, de ervaring omvat ook vervoer van en naar je hotel met tijd om te winkelen.

What To Expect
Mount Gay Visitor Centre
Het Mount Gay Visitor Centre waar je de geschiedenis en het vakmanschap van Mount Gay rum ontdekt. De proeverij begint met een gratis Rum Punch waarvan je kunt genieten terwijl je Brand Host je meeneemt door het legacy Museum dat bezoekers een fascinerende blik biedt in de roemruchte geschiedenis van Mount Gay Rum en het eiland Barbados.
Van daaruit zie je een korte film die nog meer informatie geeft over Mount Gay en zijn rumproductie. Na de korte film wordt u naar de Tasting Room gebracht waar u kunt genieten van een proeverij van 3 Mount Gay rums. Uw gastheer zal u door de proeverij leiden en de verschillen uitleggen tussen elke rum die u proeft.
Na de proeverij geniet je van een traditionele Bajan-lunch met live food-stations. Je krijgt ook de tijd om de cadeauwinkel te bezoeken waar je flessen, cadeaus of souvenirs voor jezelf kunt kopen. Een deel van de rum is alleen op het eiland te koop!

Enjoyable and entertaining rum tour with food

The tour was memorable and informative. The transport came when arranged and the food afterwards was lovely. The tasting part was most enjoyable and the staff made it really funny too. Cocktails on arrival and a soft drink complimentary with the meal although you could purchase whatever you wanted. The shop afterwards was reasonable value too.

The guide was awesome. He was funny and very informative. The film was short and interesting. It definitely brought everything home from what the guide explained to us earlier. I love that this year Master blender is a woman for the first time. Not sure what took Mount Gay so long, but kudos to them for recognizing brilliance. The food was very good. Dessert was a pleasant surprise. Wasn't expecting it. I'm not much of a drinker, but tasting the different rums were cool too.

From start to finish it was a brilliant experience. Tina our guide was amazing, she was fun, knowledgable and we learned a lot about the history of mount gay and the different rums. The lunch was incredible full of flavour and plenty. The gift shop had everything you needed, gifts for all to bring home at reasonable prices. A great time

Well organised, friendly and knowledgeable tour. Good recommendations on how to drink rum. The suggestion of using coconut water was a good one, a must try!

Barbadians like rum like Kentuckians like bourbon. Enjoyed the history of Mount Gay, tastings, especially the XO, and local lunch which was delightful. You won’t be disappointed!

This tour is very educational and entertaining. Our guide was absolutely amazing. We also visited the caves and the guide there was also extremely helpful. I would definitely do this again.

A great evening was had by all. Not too many people , very informative and friendly. Tasting followed by Cocktail making and food. Transportation was included in the cost. Highly recommended this too all. Even if your not a massive Rum drinker.

The tour was superb. Our guide was very knowledgeable, personable and kept the group engaged. I selected the vegan meal option, but was unable to eat. My only disappointment.

There is no one to welcome you when you arrive, nor do you get any instructions on where to go. You just follow the others & hopefully stand in the right queue to get your ticket. Tour guide was quick, eloquent & to the point, which was good. You first receive 1 welcome rum punch drink, then you will receive 4 shots of different aged rums.
The lunch potions are meager. 1 chicken piece is cut up to make 2 more pieces. Seems quite budgeted. There is no communication to let you know that your shuttle is waiting for you after lunch. There is no goodbye nor any thank you afterwards. I really feel this rum tasting tour has a lot of potential, it just needs some improvements here & there.
