We had the best crew and they were absolutely amazing. Super friendly and provided SO much food! And it was all great! It was very intimate, only 5 couples so the boat was relaxing and enjoyable.

A fabulous sunset cruise

My second Calablaza sailing cruise. I did the sunset cruise which was fabulous, the crew were friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. I have been on many different cruises while in Barbados over the years with various companies and I think that the food on Calablaza is the best. It’s different from Cool Runnings, which typically Sails to Payne’s Bay or to Sandy Lane and drop anchor and allow you to have a meal. On Calablaza the crew bring round various different foods such as Samosas or fish cakes etc for you to have while you are sailing. Each. A very enjoyable afternoon and I highly recommend Calablaza.
Awesome experience

Great experience. Swam with turtles and many different fish. Would recommend the sunset tour. Loved the fact we were on a smaller boat that easily managed the 12 guests. Crew were amazing and the food was great. Highlight of our holiday in Barbados.
Beautiful catamaran sunset cruise

Beautiful catamaran with great, friendly crew . Charlie the skipper was fab ! It felt like a private charter with only 12 people aboard .
Really worth paying a bit extra to go on this sunset cruise along with swimming with the turtles
A must do in Barbados

Another fabulous day on Calabaza. Such fun with great friends. From the pick up and transfer to the boat, the welcome on board, the swimming stops, the sailing, the food and drinks, to the attentive service and great music while we sailed. It was a wonderful day. Thank you to the Calabaza team!!
Flawless

Flawless. The guys were amazing. They always made sure you had a drink, and the food was excellent. They took us the turtle spot and then 2 shipwrecks for snorkelling, then took us up and down the west coast to enjoy the drink and food. They were funny and always joking and smiling. Was very personable. Would 100% recommend these guys.
Best Catamaran on the Island

From the collection at our hotel to being welcomed on board it was a very professional service.

Once on board the drinks flowed and without asking they were topped up the whole excursion

The turtles came out to what seemed old friends they new the crew and we was so close we could touch them with respect and great knowledge by their team to the shipwrecks and the fish followed our guides

The food kept trickling out of the the galley, all lovely and the tunes were classic

The hospitality was second to none, we have seen other operators offer cheaper options but we didn’t want a packed boat we had an brilliant time and worth every dollar!

Thanks to the team for a great afternoon
What a wonderful Day

We booked the sunset cruise last minute after we had originally booked a day tour with another company but had learned they were a ‘party boat’ type with large numbers on board. We were on our honeymoon and this was not what we were after so booked the sunset cruise with calabaza after being recommended by another couple at our hotel. Booking was seamless, i had to call a number to book as it was unable to do so online (I am not sure why) so I called and reserved our space. 2 minutes later I had a confirmation email.

One thing to be aware of is that the price is in US DOLLARS not BBD. I fell foul of this and it ended up costing me double what I thought it was but this was totally my fault as I hadn’t expected it to be priced in USD.

Anyway we were collected from our hotel by the driver and driven up to Bridgetown port, collecting a few people on the way.

Welcomed on board the catamaran and instructed to take shoes off before climbing on. So take cheap shoes as these get left at the port in a bucket. I can’t imagine anyone would want to steal your shoes but you never know!

Given a quick intro chat by the captain at the same time as being handed drinks.

So for this cruise it is open bar and what is described as
‘Finger food’. This description for me would be little sandwiches, maybe some crisps/nuts or something - let me tell you the food was AMAZING. It kept coming out and offered around. We had crackers with cheese and ham, devilled eggs, veggie sticks with dip, samosas, fish cakes, chicken, wraps and I mean the food kept coming. It was so much and all fresh and hot. The staff on board really looked after you and made sure you were kept fed and watered. The food was given out throughout the whole trip at intervals, not all at once.

There was music playing throughout from speakers, not too loud and not in your face music either. A bit of everything really but all appropriate for the situation.

You are also free to walk around the boat and change position as you like.

We stopped for our first snorkel stop pretty soon after setting off. There were flotation devices available for those not confident in the water. I’m not a big water person at all and I did this trip for my wife who wanted to do it but I got in and had a little snorkel. It’s great if you like that kind of thing but it’s not for me! You can see loads of fish, turtles, rays and a ship wreck they take you to also.

One thing I wasn’t told about before getting in the water was sea lice. The larvae of jelly fish, these guys sting. I didn’t know what was stinging me at first and I was a bit panicked so would have been nice to have a heads up but once it was explained to me it was just one of those things you can’t avoid. They are harmless and the sting doesn’t last long. They have vinegar on board to spray you with which helps.

So if you like water and snorkelling then the two snorkel stops are great. You have around 20/30 minutes at each of the stops.

Back on board the boat, dry off a bit and then it’s time to chill.

More food, more drink and if you are that way inclined you can mingle with the other folk on the boat. Pick your spot and just relax. We had our legs dangled over the side of the boat as the captain took us around as the sun began to set. Really lovely, relaxed and amazing setting.

Got back to the port at 18:15 on the dot and when we embarked our driver was waiting for us to take us back to the hotel.

If you like small groups, good food / drink and snorkelling (although you are not forced to snorkel!) then this is for you. It is not a party boat. It was exactly what we were after and the service received was tremendous from start to finish. The guys on the boat were so great and friendly and made us so welcome and were happy to take and pose for selfies and always made sure we had a drink in our hand.

I would 100% recommend using this company for your cruise around Barbados. .

We had an amazing time with this friend and knowledgeable crew. The food was delicious and in over abundance while I am not a drinker I could tell they were good.

My husband was talking about the experience the next day he enjoyed it so much. Worth doing while visiting lovely Barbados.

Really helpful and friendly - not a swimmer and was still able to go in the water through their help. Beautiful scenery in and out of the water that made me marvel at the beauty of life. 10/10
The best Day Ever!
LimaTruf, 07-12-2022
We were picked up from our hotel bang on time by a friendly driver in a mini bus with all the other passengers. There were 11 of us in total (the max for this experience is 12 so such a nice small group.)
When we reached Bridgetown we were dropped off right next to the pontoon and we boarded immediately and we’re offered drinks and fruit.
We set sail and were able to go wherever we wished on the boat (either staying seated on the table outside the back or enjoying the nets or decks at the front.)
There was a great soundtrack playing music throughout and we made our first stop to snorkel with Turtles and anything else we could spot.
We then boarded again and made a short journey to two shipwrecks where we snorkelled over them and saw hundreds of beautiful kinds of fish.
After, we boarded again, lazed out the front being served drinks and canapés as we sailed towards the sunset.
It was AMAZING, we cannot fault the experience one bit. From looking at all the other similar catamaran experiences, this is the one. A small group, never an empty glass, very friendly and fun crew. You felt safe and content at all times and they made the day so incredibly special!
Very enjoyable afternoon
